Let us be perfectly clear:

Tantrum Entertainment is not actively soliciting for submissions of any kind. If we do receive an unsolicited submission, it will get unceremoniously tossed and you will most likely receive no response from anyone here at Tantrum. Absolutely NO exceptions.

With that said, let it be known that this section is for the benefit of those individuals we have had prior discussions with regards to developing new creative content with us. Meaning: Gary or Frank has 1) had a prior phone conversation with you, 2) met you face-to-face, 3) had an ongoing e-mail relationship with you, 4) dated your sister 5) shown you the secret handshake. If not, please exit this section now and thank you kindly for your cooperation.

Okay, for all you other special people we've already spoken to, here are a few things to keep in mind regarding the general policies of Tantrum Entertainment:

Before we get too specific, let's make sure we're on the same page.

  1. In our experience, there's no reason to begin discussing contract details and specific business terms prior to evaluating a proposed project idea.

  2. If you've read this far, chances are we've had at least one conversation. Let's continue with broad strokes.

In general:

  1. Most projects developed or published by Tantrum Entertainment are Creator-Owned - that is, they remain the property of the creator(s). We offer Royalty Participation Agreements to the participating contributors as opposed to paying advances or page rates. All creators are paid a royalty - a percentage either based upon the number of 'units' sold (publishing rights), or a percentage of net profit that results from selling a property license to a 3rd party. (Ancillary rights)

  2. The terms of our Royalty Participation Agreements are confidential and between Tantrum and the creators. It's up to you if you care to discuss this information with anyone else, but as far as we're concerned, our lips are sealed.

  3. While attempting to be thorough in our royalty breakdowns, we do our best to keep it simple. What that means is, we strive to keep the numbers fair and rounded at the early stage of a royalty participation agreement to make it easier to understand. Because there is no front-end cash, we have tried to be as generous as possible with the breakdowns to contributors and creators. If we all establish interest in a particular property, a basic % breakdown of numbers will be submitted for your approval before taking any further steps.

  4. Because of this collaborative structure, we consider Tantrum and its contributing associates a creative team that packs more punch in the attempt to get a property to the marketplace. We believe in strength in numbers.
