The Basilica of St. Anthony

One of Christianity's most beloved shrines, the Basilica of St. Anthony is located in the Northern Italian town of Padua. It's picturesque exterior is adorned by domes, bell towers and large rose windows. It houses the sacred relics of St. Anthony, known as the saint of miracles. For centuries, millions have made the pilgrimage to the holy site to place their hand upon the tomb of the saint.

Among many other wonders, reliquaries reputed to contain the jawbone, vocal chords and even the tongue of the saint are held in its' Treasury Chapel.

The majestic sanctuary is the dramatic focal point and primary setting for the first Gideon Smyth graphic novel, set against the backdrop of WWII Italy.
