Angels have always been fascinated by the human race, but never as much as the one called Gideon. His divine purpose is to thwart the spread of evil on Earth, but he's always been frustrated by having to work from "on high". The angel's faith has been shaken once too often by the pain, suffering and death of innocent people caused by the Devil's malevolent ways. He feels it is time to deal with Lucifer more harshly...and directly.

Earth has been on the brink of annihilation more often than most celestials would care to admit. So much so, that some actually believe it was created simply as a battlefield for Heaven and Hell to "work out their differences". Traditionally, both sides have been allowed to influence life on Earth only indirectly. Those have always been the rules. But now, the rules are being challenged.

As the 20th century began on Earth, Gideon had had enough. His patience came to an end as he waited for the Almighty to deal with Lucifer and the escalating injustices of the world. Taking matters into his own hands, he decided to put himself on the line in order to effect a change.

In a bold move, the angel went rogue and descended to Earth in August of 1910, leaving the privileges of Heaven and halo behind. Trading them in for all life on this planet had to offer, Gideon has transformed from a white-winged, sexless immortal capable of performing miracles, to a somewhat darker version of his former self. Thus, began his crusade on Earth to confront the Devil face to face.

God has granted Gideon a timeframe of 100 years for his quest to beat the devil, at which time, his fate, and ours, would be determined once and for all. The problem is, the century is drawing to a close and Lucifer is still standing.
